Beautify Tia & Meme

Wes called Tia, me, and Little Susie to come to SA today and have lunch with him.  Tomorrow is his birthday.....42 yrs. old!!!  We talked about Quemado, Crystal City, Dec. 4, 1969 all over again.
As usual, he treated us like queens for the day.  He took us all through King William and clear out to Loop 410 to show us the river development that is coming to the area of town where he lives.  Many, many things are happening and they are all good and encouraging.  The river development is grandiose.....flood control, landscaping, man made habitats for fish, ducks, etc., and many, many unsightly areas converted into unimaginable great uses.  The old, abandoned warehouses  are being converted into lofts and condos like in New York.  The old historic markings are being protected and enhanced.  It is just wonderful!!!!!
We went to all of the Missions to see the restoration projects in progress, too, under a grant from the gov. for the beautification and restoration of the historic area.  It is already funded and progress won't have to be halted in  midstream for lack of funding.
After lunch, Tia and I (missing Little Susie because she has the flu and Gretchen because she was helping others) went to a make-up party in a salon located in one of the converted warehouses close to where Wes lives and had a great time moving from one make-up or hair-do station to the other!!  One of the hostesses for the make up party was Erin, the delightful girl who styles Gretchen, Little Susie's , and Tia's hair.  She was so delightful to us.
It was a great day and we always treasure the time that we get to spend together.....we just missed Gretchen and Little Susie who had planned to go with us originally.

Presley Kendall Fielding

This journey began on Thursday, September 22 just before 5:00 p.m.  I thought it would be a nice restful night and then the labor would begin, but Miss Presley had a different plan.

Presley decided to make her debut at 4:00 a.m.  She weighted 9 lbs and 10 oz and is 20.5 inches long.  She is so fat and content.  Being a "big girl", you don't have to keep her interested in a bottle, she is hungry.  She has a little double chin.
She has the longest feet and fingers.  Where did she get that . . . DADDY?  She has the "Fielding" chin. She has the "George" nose.  There is something we Carr's can take credit for . . oh yes, it must be the great disposition and creased upper lip.

Preston came that morning to meet Sister.  He did not want to have anything to do with Garren and Jenna at first, but warmed up to the idea of having a bigger family after a while.

Big surprise, Meme loved Presley right away.  Notice the cute pink, hospital issued hat.  In no time we had to replace it with a bigger one.  It kept slipping up because it was to small.

Aunt Amy and Sherry were there for the birth.

Preston sporting his "Big Bro" shirt.

These are the big feet and long toes that I was talking about.  Meme Carr is giving credit to Aunt Gretchen.

And the chunky thighs.

And rolls.

She takes up almost the whole bassinet.  She is the biggest baby in the nursery.

Thank goodness Nana (Gwen Fielding) is here.  She is helping with Preston, packing and so much more.  We love Nana!

Three generations.

Sugar loves her Presley girl.

Mom and I got to Jenna's room at 10:30 and she and Miss P were taking a little nap.

Four generations!

Sugar loves her babies.  Preston is amazing.  He played and played in Jenna's room.  He minds so well.  That makes him a lot of fun to be around.  He has some gooooooood parents.

Preston is eating some of Mom's french fries.

Preston is trying to fit into Daddy's boots.  Those are some big boots to fill.

Jenna must have eaten hot sauce.  This girls has some hair!

Casserole Caddies make the "Deal of the Month"

My sister-in-law, Jennifer Carr and I had a trunk show business years ago.  We would travel to each others house or meet in Austin and sew and sew.  We would store up our wears until we had enough for a show.  We decided to hang up our sign and stop the trunk show business, but Jennifer kept on with the apron portion.
Jennifer has a great business, Jen Rosie Designs "Hot Mama Aprons".  Jennifer had even hired Sarah and I to work some trade shows for her.

The Carr kids start school

Jed started Shelton first.  His first day at Shelton for his 4th grade year.  Looks like he is taking CeCe with him.
James followed with his first day at Lamplighter for his 3rd grade year.  He looks ready.

Olivia actually started her freshman year at SAC first.  She started last Friday.  She is a SAC cheerleader and the prettiest one I might add.

All 3 of these Carr kids go to SAC (San Antonio Christian).  Savannah 3rd grade and Walter kindergarden.  Precious!
