Amphion Cemetery

Annette, Joyce, Marty & Ronny came to Pleasanton today to see Daddy, do some geneology research and go to Amphion Cenetery.
The Harkeys went to see Daddy while Uncle Ronny went to the Atascosa Count Courthouse to do some research on Baylor Winn.  Baylor Winn was a Justice of the Peace in Atascosa.  Baylor Winn is Daddy's Great, Great Grandfather.  Baylor Winn has a very interesting life.  Some of it documented in the book Natches.  No one knows where Baylor Winn's grave is.  Still a mystery.
Ronny & Mary plan to go to Natches this summer to go to Mr. Johnson's museum.  Mr. Johnson is the one that Baylor Winn is alleged to have ambushed and shot in the back "like a coward".

Amphion is a historical goldmine.  We found the grave of the boy that was killed by Indians mentioned above and we also found the graves of Calvin Winn and Sarah Winn.  Calvin Winn's tombstone is below.  We are not sure which Calvin Winn this is, there were 3 Calvin Winns.
Below is Calvin Winn's tombstone along with a Texas Ranger marker.  Ronny is going to do some Texas Ranger research to see if Calvin A. Winn is one of the 8,000 - 10,000 Texas Rangers.  This would be Baylor Winn's father.
Below is a closer look at Calvin Winn's tombstone.

As I understand it, the Calvin Winn below is Baylor Winn's son.

Beside Calvin Winn #3 is Sarah Winn his wife

Below is Annette and Ronny

Karla's birthday

Where did it all start . . .
Both of us applying for the same job.  By God’s grace you got it and I got . . . you guessed it . . . another life lesson in being humble ;)
Somewhere along the way became friends and now I just love you so much I can’t stand it.
Below is us pictured at your birthday party . . . was this 49?  You are pictured below before you froze your hinny off on top of that bus.

The Martini Ball here  we come.  We were just to cool for that “Dead Poet Society” party.  It was on to the Fairmont for us.  Thanks Carol Harle.

Here we are in Huntsville.  We are regularly in need of a pedi.  AppleMark

On to the dump wine bar to be groped by trashy men and we are still smiling.  We always have fun don’t we.

A more cultured place in Huntsville.  The rustic porch says it all.

Always looking to refine and pick up some culture . . . our visit to the ____ house in Galveston.   I can’t remember the name, but clearly remember the experience.
You were up at daylight walking on the beach and I was in bed until the very last minute. . . common denominator, we are in bed before 9!  Always!

Here we are with our good friend from the Kat CafĂ© or whatever it was called.  Food, fun and sun.

Daddy & his Jeep

Well, good... bad...or whatever??????, this afternoon, Byrom had a mechanic get Charles's Safari Jeep running.  It has been sitting in the barn for over 4 yrs.  3 men lifted him out of his wheelchair into the front seat of the jeep and we took him for a drive!!!!!...  I belted him in the seat, Daniel sat behind him and held him upright so he did not slump over, and away we went.  Wind blowing in his face for the first time in a long time.  It even rained on him!!!!!  We took him up to the barn to see about his tractors, his implements, his trailers, etc.  He wore out pretty quickly, but we didn't let the opportunity pass.
